Meditation Monday

Close your eyes and count very slowly to 30 while remembering to breathe deeply……

Now, would you believe it if I told you that, in those 30 short seconds, you could have actually been exhaling your fat?

Well, according to a study on metabolism in the British Medical Journal, ” results show that the lungs are the primary excretory organ for weight loss”.

For that reason, our PURE clients are encouraged to meditate and breathe deeply for at least 5 minutes daily- ideally in the beginning of the day.

Did we just blow your mind?

Wait, it gets better……

Meditation, thinking deeply or focusing one’s mind for a period of time, has been shown to “improve our psychological wellbeing, by reducing stress, anxiety, addiction and depression and improving memory and critical thinking” (Melnick, 2013).

The reality is that, like any new habit, practice definitely makes perfect. But that’s just it- you have to practice. You may find yourself holding your breathe or thinking about your to-do list in the beginning, but, trust us, you will be a deep breathing, meditating master in no time!

Be Well,

The Team at PURE
